Useful and useless

Given that people are confused what these words mean, let's define them here.

Useful = whatever contributes towards increasing happiness.

Useless = whatever doesn't contributes towards increasing happiness.

Of course, there is also a third word: detrimental.

Detrimental = whatever contributes towards decreasing happiness.

What do you think ? Are these the correct definitions ?

@Quentin. I know you have not developed past the toddler level. The question is why ? What use do you get by being stuck at that level ? I guarantee you that maturing into a fully developed adult is much more useful.
