Hello,

It has been 7 months I have purchased my FCB1010.
But I couldnt used it still at Ableton Live 11.
I have purchased Eurakaprom chip. But still haven't found out how to contact the FCB 1010 to computer.

I have a Midi USB cable.
I am connecting it directly to computer.
I have found out some midi scripts for ableton.
I have translated them to phyton3.

But nothing. Is there some one we can go through step by step?

Regards

So, with the MIDI Output of the FCB1010 connected to the MIDI-USB cable, your computer doesn't see any MIDI messages? There are a bunch of MIDI monitor applications out there, and you should be able to MIDI activity in Ableton too - https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/360006569179-Monitoring-in-Live

Hi, I'm in a similar situation.

I've purchased the Eurekaprom chip and installed it in my FCB1010.
I've connected the FCB1010 via midi to my focusrite interface.
If I press one of the pedals on my FCB1010, the light flashes on my interface to indicate midi activity and also in ableton in the midi track indicator in the top right hand corner.

However, it doesn't seem to recognise my FCB1010 as a midi control surface in ableton and i don't seem to be able to program it using the midi mapping feature.
Reading online people mention midi scripts for ableton - I have dabbled with this but it hasn't helped.

It seems like the fact that it is recognising the pedals as midi events is promising but lost where to go next!

Thanks

Liam

Thanks very much Dave for your response.

This has got me a little further in terms of Ableton recognizing the FCB1010 for some MIDI mapping.

However it doesn't seem to work as it is meant to (or at least needs so adjusting / tweaking which I can't work out).  Eg:
  • "EF" (Effects mode) - recognizes the different CC values! Woo hoo!
  • "Pr" (Presets mode) -  does not recognize / register in MIDI mapping
  • "FP" (Favorite Presets mode) - it seems to not be able to differentiate between each pedal.  Eg in the Noise / Control section of the MIDI Mappings they all come up as "Pitchbend".
  • "SP" (Specials mode) - does not recognize / register in MIDI mapping
Even though the EF mode works, it seems limited because it is designed for effects (I think stomp box mode?).  This won't work when wanting it to cover "play" / "stop" (for example) with the one pedal.  Unless there's another way of getting around this?

It seems strange that FP and SP mode don't work - am I missing something?

Is Pr mode just to program FP mode or should it be used to turn things off and on etc?

I've followed the instructions on the EurekaProm website here including this video but this doesn't seem to have made a difference.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks so much again!

Liam

Liam,

Sorry you're still having issues - but glad effects mode is working!

So the computer "sees" the MIDI program Change command come in from pedal presses in PR/FP - but it's not affecting anything in Ableton - is that what you're saying? Huh. Check out the series of videos by this guy with Ableton: https://www.youtube.com/c/LiveKeyboardist/search?query=ableton%20midi%20map

Now, regarding FP sending the same message - it needs to be programmed from PR mode using the footpedals:
  • To store a Preset:

    • In Pr mode, select preset via the EurekaPROM-enabled FCB1010.

    • Press & Hold the UP pedal until the 7-segment display begins to flash FP.

    • Press the pedal you wish to store the Preset. The 7-segment display will flash when stored.

I think it would be very important to have a diagram that gives us a visual representation of the interactions of the different pedals, in order to assimilate, reflect and by appropriating the resources of the 1010, we will then be able to see beyond the manuals and video tutorials.

I think with DAWs the 1010 can do wonders, but we lack researchers and innovators for new possibilities.

Cheers,

Santiago

Thanks again Dave for your message.

I've tried what you said above - looked at the videos and followed the FP programming.

Unfortunately everything keeps coming up as Pitchbend no matter how I program it.

I've heard that this could potentially be due to my audio interface - I use a focusrite but have also tried it with my presonus.  I would have thought at least one of these would be ok but I'm at my wits end.

Kind Regards

Liam
