Email sending not working in Messages

Hello,

When I try to send a message in Messages, it works but even if Email sending is checked, the email is not sent, however the outgoing email settings are set and working properly (for example if we add a new user, the email is sent and working).

How can I make this email sending function working in Messages?

Your scheduler is not working - it might be sitting in "Bulk Mail"

Could you please help me where to find scheduler settings and bulk mails? Thank you very much!

Go to Setup > Settings > System Settings and check if "Enable Scheduler" is checked.

Hello Anand, yes that is checked (see attachment). What else should I do then to enable the scheduler to make it work?

Are you using bench in develop mode or have you setup nginx and supervisor for production?

I am using bench in develop mode but I have both Nginx and supervisor installed and working (the only reason that we don't use Nginx and Supervisor together with ERPNext yet is because we are having an issue in setting it up but we will fix the issues soon)

So the answer is, bench...

Check Setup / System / Scheduler Log and see if there are any recent errors.

Hmmm actually there is nothing on that page, please see attachment. I guess I should create a new one but would you please help me what to write to method and error sections?

That means celery is not working. How did you start serving ERPNext. Did you use honcho like the frappe bench readme mentions?

Ok so I started honcho successfully and celery is now working but there is still nothing in scheduler log :( 
What am I still doing wrong? Thanks for helping.

Hello Anand,

Actually you solved the problem. Honcho was not running. I started it and now the emails are working. 

One last question: If I want to set up ERPNext in production mode, should I only just copy the necessary files into supervisor and Nginx and leave the files as it is or I should edit them first to make it work? Sorry, I am not too professional in either Nginx and Supervisor. Do you have any ERPNext related documentation about the production install that has a bit more details in it?
