Deleting a user

Is there any way to delete a user from ERPNext?

Hello Tivadar,

Firstly you should Disable user.

Setup >> User List >> User >> Uncheck "Enable" >> Save

Then you can try deleting User from:

File >> Delete

or

User List >> Select User >> Delete

If User's id is linked in any other record, it won't let you to delete that user, even if disabled. In that case, you should leave that user at Disabled.

Hello Umair,

Thanks for helping. I disabled a user and saved it but there is still no any delete menu shown (see attachment) and I also made sure that the user Id is not linked to any record. Do you have any other suggestion, please?

Tivadar,

Check if you have delete permission for User record.

Steps:
  1. Setup >> User >> Role Permission Manager
  2. Document = User
  3. System Manager = Delete should be checked.
Try deleting User again after following above steps.

Is there a way I could unlink a user from the transactions. Since there are old users whom I wanted to delete.

Done that long time ago, but wanted to know if there could be a way to delete such old users.
