opportunity type in Opportunity in Selling

Hi, When I create a new Opportunity in Selling application, there is a required option: Opportunity Type: Sales or Maintenance

I almost likely choose "Sales", but I don't know what case to choose "Maintenance"?

For opportunity, what I know is for possibility of any sales of products or services, so "Sales" is making sense, but I don't know what is "Maintenance" in this sense?

For Service opportunity, you should select opportunity type as Maintenance.

thank you so much for quick reply. but why named as 'maintenance', but not just 'services'? it is quite confusing.

but anyway, i got the answer and thank you so much!
