Batch Nr Traceability

Folks - I may be missing a point here but is there a specific reason on why there is no possibility to track a given batch number from which Purchase Order was obtained and with which Delivery Note was shipped out?

This is available for SN and it would be advantageous to have this for batch nr as well especially for those businesses that need to track batch of material rather than individual SNs
