Hello,

You should restrict users permission only to Sales Invoice for POS invoicing. Check following link to learn assigning roles to users and customizing permissions in ERPNext.

Your should create POS Setting for user who will be making POS invoices.

Hi Umair, 

I have create a user and set him as sales user and sales manager. I have created a POS 

I also given the permission for that POS.

Now when that user want to use the pos to create sales invoice, it is said that he hasn't the permission.

I imagine that it is because of sales invoice.

Basically I would like to have a user that is just using POS (selling items from a POS).  

Any ideas what I'm missing?

Sales Invoice needs Accounts User permission. However, in your case, you can create a new role "POS User" and assign read, write, create, submit permissions for Sales Invoice. Then give this role to your user.

Hi Anand,

Thanks for the advise.  I did create a new role "POS user" and gave it various rights such as account, contacts, customers, warehouse, mode of payment, etc.  (basically all the fields required to make a Sale Invoice.

I've created a user that only have that role.

Now the POS "icon" / app is not appearing for that user when logged in?  What am I missing to ensure that the POS app is there for that user.

Currently the roles activated are Sales User, Accounts User, Purchase User.

You can edit these from:

/desk#Form/Page/pos

Good morning Rushabh,

I've been to the said page and I see the 3 roles, but I'm not able to edit / add anything on that page although I'm logged in as the sys admin.  Shouldn't I be able to add a row with "POS user" as a role?  I'm on frappecloud.com.

You will have to give read and write to "System Manager" for "Page" via Role Permissions Manager, before you can edit the page permissions. Sorry. This will be made default.

Hi Anand,

OK.  Now it works.  Thanks a lot.  What you have developed guys is a real gem!!  I really enjoy this mix of simplicity and ability to still customise users, roles, etc.  It has been a great learning experience so far to trial our Cie with erpnext.
