Hi,

I had posted this query on the user forum but didnt get a reply for the last 2 days.

Hoping to get some help here.

I want to install / run ERPNext on my local network keeping my macbook as the host for it. Where can I find the step by step process for this? the Userguide does not seem to have such details.

Also, tried using GitHub for it, but the production deployment only gives two commands. I'm sure I'm missing something here...can anybody enlighten me?

Regards
Aditya

For Mac OS, instead of apt-get you will have to use a package manager like brew

Thanks for the quick response Rushabh! It seems I was posting on the wrong forum indeed.

I had checked the link you shared about GitHub, but couldnt follow much, do you have a step by step guide on this?

Is it the same if my webhosting provider will install it on the space I have taken from him. I was asked to check if cpanel is required. I've been paying for about 5 GB space all these years and havent hosted anything but a single page website so he suggested i check if we could utilize that.

This is pretty much it, you will have to install XCode, homebrew and then install the pre-requisites. You will need to learn basic Unix command line  (Terminal) for this. You can google that part up, its not very hard but will take sometime.

You will need at minimum Virtual Machine, because you need shell access to install and run ERPNext. Buying webspace usually does not cut it.

On Debian/Ubuntu running the commands in the bench readme should get
erpnext running.

Avoid CPanel based stuff and shared hosting, it really comes in the
way. Ideally, you'd want a VPS if you want to host it on the internet.
