Wow thanks for a quick answer, i wish it was helpful, i find these print templates to be of great importance to any company i mean we all need to get paid and sending the product (delivery note) and invoicing the client are actually the most important part and yet there is no templates or support on this topic i am actually quite surprised there are systems with hundreds of print templates and yours comes with several that are not even properly aligned and configured
Very disappointed since i thought this system has great potential over the competition

Hi Dragan

I understand how frustrating it can be not to be able to easily customize with a friendly template engine, however after having been through several other systems, I wouldn't say that ERPNext is the worst! I am sure Rushabh and the team have this on their radar.
I do think they have great potential over other ERP software, don't give up just yet!

For some documents (i.e. sales quotation) they do have alternative available from which you can see how it is designed. What type of design do you need to implement? Maybe if you can share the team could get some ideas for future template?

Thanks Federico :)

I agree we need to re-design the Print Formats - The problem is that those who have already built print formats, are very resistant. So we will need to keep both the systems active (another reason, why it keeps falling off the list)

i did not say it is the worst erp system i said it has a great potential but it needs a lot of work, i am at the stage of actually  giving up on erpnext, since there is no support, guide or help on how to customize the print formats, i have been trying to figure it out on my own for days, not everyone is a programmer i am actually willing to pay someone to help me, these print formats change periodically so want to be able to make simple changes, i uploaded a simple format that i am looking for,i just want to add bill to address, delivery note id and delivery date, html/css i can handle

is there some kind of support or a guide or someone willing to explain it at least main points

I am sure there is paid help available. You should have go a couple of mails (I hope)

We know print formats are a pain, but they won't be solved yesterday. So stay tuned.

Hi Ivanic,

Send me the print formats and probably I would try to do them for you without CHARGE in my free time by end of this week. If print formats is the only thing putting you off from erpnext.

Thanks Aditya!

I hope someone will be willing to take up the offer as a paid job though :)

I just made this offer so that @Ivanic is assured that the work would be done.

I can very well imagine the kind of frustration the user has to go through when they are willing to pay for something and then also they are not able to get the work done, I have learnt to remain patient but I guess as a new user I have every right not to be patient.

We just implemented the ERP System and agree with others functionally very good but the printing has been very frustrating as we are not experienced in javascript or python.

A forms generator would be great.

Since there is no help or support on print formats i am ready to give up on ERPNext, i tried using built in print formats and i am getting different results for each invoice (address format is different from one invoice to another, yes i have set up default address template which is really not reflected anywhere)
Developer from ERPNext said he'd help but i have not heard from him in two weeks, there are not many freelancers that are willing to work with ERPNext either (makes me thing why?)

Hi Dragan,

We are a very small team. So it is difficult to keep up with the barrage of questions on the forum.

Regarding print formats, we have redesigned the whole approach, and use jinja templating which many in the python world are familiar with and would attract more freelancers.

Here are the pull requests, which are under review:
https://github.com/frappe/frappe/pull/713
https://github.com/frappe/erpnext/pull/1971

If it is urgent, you can approach one of our partners: https://frappe.io/partners

Thanks,
Anand Doshi.
