Best Practice for Changing Print Format

We want to change the way addresses print from multiple lines to one line for City, State and pincode.

We see that there is a script that does the formatting.  

We planned to create a new print format for say Quotations from a copy of one of the formats.  Then create a custom script to do what we want.  Then replace the script in the format to our custom script.

Is this the best way th achieve this.

I think we will create an address template format that will be used as a standard - quite a few address related queries in the last few days. Will try and push this later today:
