I just had a play with it, hiding them from the filter list isn't ideal for a couple of reasons:
-My groups are labelled 1 to 30, and the strips are labelled RGBW01, RGBW02 etc etc, so if I filter by 1 I get all of the RGBW01 strips and all groups with a 1 in (1,10-19,21 etc) (I realise this can be fixed from better group names)
-For a big project like this I will usually make a colour coded map showing where the strips start and finish in their groups for manufacture, and if I could also similarly colour code the stage in ELM then I can do a quick visual check to ensure they line up
Saying that it would be a useful feature to have for other reasons I'm sure!
I realise the colour coding strips could be misleading from a UX point of view as users may think thats the current colour of the LED strip or something, but maybe it would only show the colours when the strips are selected in the strip list or something?
Also I think there is a minor bug with how the strip list is sorted, for my 1-30 groups, on startup the list is arranged 1-30, but if I sort the list by group they go 1,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,2,20,21,22 etc etc.
