How pause and resume lifecycle function are implemented?

I am investigating relying on webassembly for my scheme compiler and I am wondering how emscripten achieves `pause` and `resume`.

I stumbled upon https://kripken.github.io/blog/wasm/2019/07/16/asyncify.html it seems like the answer is use that asyncify.
