I've been playing with WASM and building a webgl application.  This is a sizable blob of code (2M .wasm)

https://d3x0r.org:444/javascript/wasmgui/index2.html

If I click on the link, it loads,
if I hit the reload button repeatedly, it reloads correctly..
but about 50% of the time, if I reload with ctrl-R it fails to load properly (prints a bunch of '4' to the console.log).
Is this a chrome issue? (74.0.3729.169 )

Hi,

on my mageia linux v7 x64 system, reloads are always working (after pressing
ctrl+R) in both chromium and firefox. I tried many times.

Hmm, I did just also try firefox, and Chromium Canary, and they all do it.  but only on ctrl-R.
Was just coming back to report similar failure happens on Firefox...

The server/page is local to me... maybe the internet delay 'fixes' it...

Using the browser devtools to see the order in which things load (network tab, web console) might help.

Also it might help to build with -s ASSERTIONS=1 in emscripten as that can catch some async startup related errors.

The logged error messages were apparently filtered out... so all I saw was
'4'
Turns out it also mattered where the mouse was; and the code was setting up mouse/key/touch input handlers before the app was initialized, so the events tried to dereference a NULL.
