Learning Group 1st meet-up

Hey guys, 

             Thanks to Chester for helping in creating this page group for few of us that are interested to explore embedded Linux based on Yocto Project together.

             Below is the idea for the flow of the learning group:

             

•Linux OS/GNU commands & Bash

•Git tool

•Linux kernel modification and building - basic about Linux kernel

•Yocto Project & IOT Devkit on Intel Maker board. 

            I do recognize that a lot of us come from different background and number of years in using/developing on Linux, since it is the aim of this learning group

            to build up from almost no idea of what Linux is to someone that know how to build an embedded Linux OS based on Yocto Project, so I encourage that those

            who are familiar with Linux to join in to help each other. 

           The aim of this learning group is ultimately to build a community in Penang area where Linux & open source project talent can be found.

           I believe in learning and growing together. 

           

           I am proposing to start the group 1st lesson in 26 Sept 2014, 7:00pm-9:00pm so that Chester will have some time to prepare for the logistic part. 

           What do you guys & girls think about this?  

 

          Feel free to suggest this to friends who maybe interested and we will worry about the seats if the demands are high. :-)

Great!  What do we need to prepare before the 1st meet-up?

For the 1st session, Chester will be sending out the promo soon. You need to bring your laptop. If you have already installed Fedora natively or on top VM that is why.

The 1st workshop is more 101 level to start from scratch so that we level set everyone as we progress.
