Piney Relative?

My dog and I went for a walk and upon our return, this little guy was on the dash.  He told me that he was a relative of Piney and he heard about a fly in service and did I have any mealy worms?  After explaining that I did not, he pooped several times and then left in disgust out the open window!

That’s actually son of Chippy the chipping sparrow.

 

 

 

Chippy will be so happy he turned up – he’s been looking everywhere for him.

Does anyone have ideas about how the bird kingdom will fare in the fires? Do they stay ahead of the fires and remain in the area? I am a Fernberg evacuee so cannot observe the day to day now. I hope to salvage part of summer. This is a tragic event.
