- Problems in 3D view on Electric 9.05 - 2 Updates
- 3D functionality - 2 Updates

Greetings Mehmet. To install the Java 3D plug-in, you need to add the
archive (in my case: j3dcore-ogl.dll) to the System Variables. Access the
CLASS_PATH and select "edit", after that, add the location of the file and
save it.
To run the plug-in with Electric, you need to execute a CLASSPATH, so open
the CMD if you're using windows, find the folder with the main Electric jar
(including the plug-ins) and type the following command:
java -classpath "[name of electric main jar];[name of the j3d files]"
-mx1000m com.sun.electric.Launcher
Here's an example of the command on my machine:
java -classpath
"electricbinary-9.07.jar;j3dcore-ogl.dll;j3dcore.jar;j3dutils.jar;vecmath.jar"
-mx1000m
com.sun.electric.Launcher
It is very important to type the exact same name of the file WITH the
correct extension.
To avoid this process, you can create an .bat file with the exact same
command.
Best regards

Following the old Win 7 shortcut creation instructions in "Electric
Install.pdf" at
https://groups.google.com/g/electricvlsi/c/w4beIvW1wX8/m/PUkAxjnkgMMJ
I was able to create a working shortcut in Win 10 as seen in the attached
"Creating Win 10 Electric Shortcut.pdf".

Greetings.
I'm trying to get 3D functionality installed. Oracle's website says the
following for the past 2 weeks. Can anyone provide any guidance?
" This site is experiencing technical difficulty. We are aware of the issue
and are working as quick as possible to correct the issue."
Thanks,
Matt

I tried out the newer Java SE Runtime Environment version 8u261 today and
the 3D view seems to be working fine. See attached pdf.
