Squashed migrations for edx/course-discovery

Howdy,

While we have not officially released the Catalog Service, we recognize that there are a few early adopters making use of it. I write to let you know that we recently merged a commit that squashes many of the migrations. If you are an early adopter, please pull the tag release-2016-11-04 and run migrations before pulling any later releases. Failure to do so may cause issues with future migrations.

After running migrations, you should see a few new rows in the django_migrations table that include the names of the squashed migration files.

We are excited that many of you are interested in the Catalog Service and anxious to start using it. We are working to get it into the Ficus release, and will keep you updated on that development.

Can I bug you with a small question? I did checkout the tag release-2016-11-04.

When I try running "make migrate", I get these error messages. Any suggestions?

Your logs suggest you don't have Elasticsearch running. You need to have it running for migrations to succeed.

I am able to run the search for courses and the posts in the forums.

Renzo, proof that elasticsearch is running: it creates an entry for catalog_* in /var/lib/elasticsearch/elasticsearch/nodes/0/indices every time I try to run "make migration".
