how to install and run openedX in ubuntu 16

if u know any other way to install open edx in windows tell me

i followed steps

1.https://openedx.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/OpenOPS/pages/146440579/Native+Open+edX+Ubuntu+16.04+64+bit+Installation

2.installed docker container

3.vagrant installed 

4.git bash installed 

when i enter make dev.up  it will execute but getting issue

Hello Madhusudhan,

Quoting from the steps you performed. There is many ways to install. 

i followed steps

1.https://openedx.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/OpenOPS/pages/146440579/Native+Open+edX+Ubuntu+16.04+64+bit+Installation

The above is one way to install. You have to use ubuntu-server 16.04 for this. As of now native installation is available for ubuntu-server 16.04. If you want to try hawthorn, you can use the following steps

Run all commands as root user,

apt-get update -y

apt-get upgrade -y

reboot

# 1. Set the OPENEDX_RELEASE variable:
export OPENEDX_RELEASE=open-release/hawthorn.2

# 2. Bootstrap the Ansible installation:
wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/edx/configuration/$OPENEDX_RELEASE/util/install/ansible-bootstrap.sh -O -  |  bash

# 3.  If this is a new installation, randomize the passwords:
wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/edx/configuration/$OPENEDX_RELEASE/util/install/generate-passwords.sh -O - | bash
Save the passwords file created in this step.

# 4. Install Open edX.
wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/edx/configuration/$OPENEDX_RELEASE/util/install/native.sh -O - | bash

Normally this should run fine.

2.installed docker container

This is another way of installing where the app is hosted as container images. I have not tested this much.

3.vagrant installed 

This is another way of installing. Here its similar to creating VMs, just a different that it uses vagrant. To know more about vagrant, just google it.

4.git bash installed 

I dont understand, whats this.

I have performed native installation for hawthorn.2 for POC, UAT and Production.
