Hi,

I am looking for an option to add videos for paid course, currently for free course we have uploaded videos on youtube.
But i believe we can't use youtube for paid course because youtube video are public. So if someone has link then they can watch videos directly on youtube site but in case of paid course i want videos to be accessible only from course page of my site.

Can anybody please suggest some site to host paid video and how to use them in edx course ???

Thanks,
Vikas

Hi

We are using our streaming server for this. We have a wowza streaming server and we have developed a xbloxk to permit private videos in ours SPOCs (live and VOD)

Regards
Paco.

We are using two approaches for SPOC.

1. Using a streaming server on our site. It use Kaltura
(http://www.kaltura.org/)
2. Using a CloudFront on AWS and we made a new product for Plone. It
is management video by S3 and CloudFront. The name is
c2.app.streamingaws.
(https://pypi.python.org/pypi/c2.app.streamingaws) . Than we made a
XBlock viewer.

I recommend, you will use CloudFront system, if you are using AWS.
Because the system is very scalable and very cheap.
However c2.app.streamingaws is not stable for initial settings yet, it
means some difficult initial settings. And The XBlock is not OSS.

The Video XBlock that we (Appsembler) developed together with Raccoon Gang supports Brightcove, Wistia, Vimeo and others for secure delivery of video content. Read more on our blog post: https://appsembler.com/blog/deliver-videos-securely-open-edx-courses-new-video-xblock/

Hi Ye,

We haven't done extensive testing of the Video XBlock on mobile devices, but I just played a few videos from my phone, and they played fine in full screen.

If you're expecting the interactive transcript to work on mobile, you may be disappointed (due to limited screen size), however subtitles should work just fine.

You can try it out for yourself by enrolling in this Video XBlock testing course:
