Hello, everyone,

According to this page "Shopping Cart", it's mentioned as follows.

Note that edX.org has additional use-cases regarding the purchasing of "Verified Certificates", which will not be covered in this Documentation, as the UX flows are different.

I think, "edx.org" has this function.
Some courses have two options "Pursue a Verified Certificate($xx)" and "Audit This Course" for user
when showing course information on edx.org.

How can I use this function?
It seem that there is no docs about this.

Please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Harry,

Enabling the "Verified Certificate" feature in an instance of Open edX will be very tricky because we rely on a 3rd party service provider  (Software Secure) to do the identity verification and our implementation is pretty tightly integrated with that service provider. I'd imagine that for most in the Open edX community, that will not be possible to engage this service provider to perform the same identity verification.

As noted in that link that you pasted, we do have generic support for use-cases where Open edX installations wish to sell seats to a course via Credit Card purchases (right now we just support CyberSource for payment gateway provider). Provided you can get a CyberSource merchant account, that should be relatively easy to turn on in any Open edX instance.

Best wishes,

Chris

Hello Chris,

Thank you so much for your help.
We surely need to implement the identity verification feature to sell a Verified Certificate.
Putting that aside, I'd like to ask another question below.

I'm thinking about selling seats via payment service except for Cybersource.
To do that, I'm looking up what features have on Opend edX.

As you've already implemented, I guess, edx.org has 2 options for enrollment.
The first one is that students can be enrolled without payment for auditing.
Another one is that students who want to get a Verified Certificate purchase seats.
That mean, edx.org can offer 2 options on course page at the same time as I attached image.

As far as I set up configuration, cart button showed up on course information page without button for auditing.

How can I do that?

Thank you.

Harry

Dear Harry,
it is been a long time since this post, but I came across your problem, since I need to do pretty much the same.
Could you please share how you solved the problem?

Thanks,
Christos
