When I enable Peer instruction "ubcpi" in Advanced Settings, it does not appear under 'Advanced' when I create a new unit, while other 'Advanced modules' do appear (i.e. survey, split content, etc.)

Is it still supported? Could be something in our local setup?

Have you installed the XBlock on your local Open edX instance?

not sure. Probably not :) Because it appears in the regular edX documentation, I thought it would be native to the installation. But it should be installed as an X-Block, correct?

Yes. I believe it is not included by default, so you need to install it separately.

thanks Braden! Possibly that should be mentioned in the documentation, because it only suggests to add the "ubcpi" key to the Advanced Module List on the Advanced Settings page.

I believe that that specific URL you sent is primarily aimed at people working on edx.org and edX Edge, where the XBlock is already installed.

But yes, the Open edX version of that documentation uses the same content and it would be helpful if it said that. You could open a pull request here: https://github.com/edx/edx-documentation/blob/master/en_us/shared/exercises_tools/peer_instruction_tool.rst

not sure how to open a pull request, but I created an 'issue' in edX documentation. Hope that also ends up solving this (minor) issue. :)
