Hey all: occasionally we get queries from people who want to run Open edX themselves, and they need help finding a person to do it for them.  They want to know what skills to require on their job description to hire that person.  Has anyone got a job description that worked well for them?

Of course, hiring a service provider (https://github.com/edx/edx-platform/wiki/List-of-Open-edX-service-providers) is an option, but in this case we're talking about hiring a person, not a firm.

Ideas welcome,

You can have a look at our job listing for example - it's more oriented toward development, but if you look at the optional skiils you'll likely have a good starting point. The development parts are still important though to run an Open edX instance at the moment, for customization and debugging. Experience with open source development is also important, to be able to contribute your changes, and avoid difficult upgrades.

NB: Shameless plug - we're currently hiring! : )
