Hello,

I am evaluating Open Edx for hosting e-learning courses for my organization. After going through various discussions and threads in google groups, I still find myself searching for answers to below queries.

Expert opinion is highly appreciated.

1. Virtual Classroom Software for live online training - has anyone integrated any third party API with Edx?
2. Responsive UI - How did you achieve this?
3. How to go about implementing sharable Digital Certificates.
4. Video hosting integration and Adaptive streaming player support
5. SSO with linkedin
6. How easy or difficult it is to integrate Tin Can based applications with Open Edx?

Any pointers to documents/materials/sample would certainly help.

All good questions - the only one I'm really qualified to answer is the one about certificates. We use a 3rd party service - Accredible (https://www.accredible.com). They've got a plugin for open edX, their certificate design tools are cool, and students can share them easily.

Hi - Sorry for the delay in responding. I just joined this group.

I am with Appsembler, which is an Open edX service provider that works with mid-sized and large organizations (companies and universities). In terms of your questions:

1. Virtual Classroom Software for live online training - has anyone integrated any third party API with Edx?
Yes, Open edX can be integrated with many other software tools via its API. We've done integration with Salesforce, LinkedIn, Marketo, and many other systems.

2. Responsive UI - How did you achieve this?
We have developed a responsive theme that we provide to our customers

3. How to go about implementing sharable Digital Certificates.
This was answered by another person. I know that Open edX supports both HTML and PDF certificates

4. Video hosting integration and Adaptive streaming player support
Not sure what your question is. Most customers host on YouTube but others use Wistia, Brightcove and other services.

5. SSO with linkedin
SSO can be done OAuth2 and other services such as LDAP, SAML, etc., so you could integrate it with LinkedIn.

6. How easy or difficult it is to integrate Tin Can based applications with Open Edx?
I don't believe that Open edX currently supports Tin Can but I know it supports LTI. We also have done advanced SCORM work for our customers.

I'm no techie, but I hope that helps some. :-)

>>Virtual Classroom Software for live online training
It is possible to integrate some opensource software using LTI interface.
