Hi all! I just published on Amazon Web Services (AWS) an instance image that will help anyone setup an Open edX instance in one click, with no shell access required: https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/B07PV3TB8X

Everything is neatly packaged in this image, so that absolutely no configuration or hacking is required to get a working Open edX install. This is the continuation of my work on Tutor, which is a free, open source, docker-based Open edX distribution designed for maximum maintainability and ease of use: http://docs.tutor.overhang.io/

You'll note that the AMI itself is not free: its price was set at $50/month ($500/year) to support the development of Tutor. I worked very hard with the AWS technical support to make the AMI battle-proof and rock-solid. For instance, the image includes a local Docker registry to guarantee that you are always using the right docker containers for your Tutor version.

Because Tutor is open source, there is no vendor lock-in: you are free to take your data, move it to a different server and stop paying for the Tutor AMI at any time.

I'll be at the conference next week: ask me anything!
