All its associated tasks are closed, but it's still in the backlog with no priority or not-already-past release milestone allocated.

As for "Discovery - Badging Server hosting"[1], thanks to the Mozilla Backpack tasks[2][3][etc.], and the probably imminent closure of Mozilla Backpack, should we just include Mozilla Backpack in the OpenEdX ecosystem? - Bootstrap its build scripts and whatnot. Mozilla, so it's open-source ;)

BTW: I'm thinking to gamify and assign a bunch of badges KhanAcademy style; with shiny UI badge alerts, leaderboards and whatnot.

Hi Samuel,

This epic has been completed yes - Open Badges support is part of Open edX since last year. If you want to enable it on your instance, see http://edx.readthedocs.io/projects/edx-installing-configuring-and-running/en/latest/configuration/enable_badging.html

As for including Mozilla backpack in the Open edX ecosystem, I can't answer this question, but imho I'm not sure it worth the additional maintenance burden on the project. I haven't followed the planned closure of Mozilla Backpack (and it's actually saddening to see them closing yet another useful project), but a better solution might be to look if the Open Badges community is planning to host one? It looks like something that would have a broader set of interested parties than the Open edX community?
