Hi I have successfully installed open-release/hawthorn.1 native on ubuntu 16.x. This is the only native version that installed successfully on ubuntu without errors.

Is there any documentation for it, or shall I look the documentation of the previous versions?

I need to create new users and remove (or disable) the default ones (or just change their default password). This is the basic thing I am interested currently.

Please let me know

Thanks a lot!

And how about managing outbound email settings (my outgoing server is smtp with authentication)
I have not yet tried this, which is for another version of openedx
Will that work, or is there another process?

Also I see a forum service running with  sudo /edx/bin/supervisorctl status
But what is the forum's url, how can I access it?

And finally how can I create "teachers" that can create new courses, is the "staff" the correct user role? (are there default roles?)
sudo -u edxapp /edx/bin/python.edxapp /edx/app/edxapp/edx-platform/manage.py lms manage_user <user> <user>@example.com --staff --settings=aws

Thanks!

Hai,
Regarding SMTP, you can refer to Lawrence McDaniel's notes, which he kindly shared on his blog at

As for the forum, hm... is this what you mean?

Hope that answers your qts.

P.S. Please read carefully the official docs before posting your question in the forums
e.g. take a look at "Building and Running an edX Course"
The rest of docu

Yes absolutely, thank you!
I will follow the smtp instructions and let you know if there is any problem.

I thought the forum was a different page, I haven't realized that this is the "discussions" part for each course.

Thank you!
