We've updated the Home Base Document with the schedule of the Hack Day as well as remote connection info.

If you want to participate, it would be great if you can tune in at 9am (PST) on Thursday to learn about the broader context of the OER Summit.  At roughly 10:15am (PST) we'll be forming hacking teams. We will try to keep the Home Base Document updated, so if you are joining late you can start there to find and join a team.

Hi Scott,

I just came back from a holiday trip and missed your hackday. Looks interesting and I will store this email and document should we want to do something similar in order to learn from how you organized this event.

How was the turnout? Did you guys get a lot done?

i'm bummed that our group didn't really learn about this until the 11th hour.  I'm thinking maybe it was a closed event, related to specific grant funded project (i.e., like some of our own educoder retreats, which tend to focus on what we need to get done).  Still - I think I might actually be involved as a investigator or advisor on at least a couple of the relevant grants (CLASS, VISUAL?).  Our group has a strong interest in interoperability and esp the Web, and have been making steady progress in SAIL as an framework for developing real-time supports for collective inquiry scripts.  Hopefully we can learn more about what happened at the Hack day, and stay in touch about our various resources.

This would of been good to have a meet up around. The take away is that educoders are super excited to get-together to hack and discuss! This instance could inform our next retreat, maybe something like an "EDUCODER-X" -- a hacker meetup around topics like interop, visualizations, and interactions.

Jim, real-time supports for collective inquiry scripts sounds neat. Where can we learn more about it?

OER Summit Hack Day felt productive. We made some nice progress on WISE-PhET and WISE-CCLab integrations.

Hi all,

In my opinion the Hack Day turned out very well. We created several new integrations, and learned a lot about each other in the process. Thankyou everyone that participated!

I apologize about not sending out a message to the educoder list more in advance.  Physical attendance at the event was limited but remote participation was essentially unlimited.  Hopefully we will have a chance to do this again, and this next time we can plan it out better.

The hardest part of our "Hack Day" format was the team forming. This was particularly hard for remote participants because it was done in an adhoc way.
