Does releasing JMDict as JSON just require license attributions?

XML is more annoying to me than json so I was thinking about creating a JSON api for JMDict.

Of course, there'll be some edits as straight converting JMDict as json = 1.16gigs... Mostly because of repeating data segments.

Does that just require acknowledgement and distribution of the documentation is made like the copyright in the docs suggest?

Not addressing the license questions, but just a note: I have been using https://github.com/scriptin/jmdict-simplified for years and I like it a lot. (I think the automated GitHub Action to release a new version every two weeks has been broken since October but hopefully it gets fixed soon.)

A JSON version comes under the same licence conditions as the original file.

As suggested, you should check out the other JSON versions available.

Cool, I'll just add all the license stuff as per normal then.
