Follow Up - Fellowship Discussion Last Saturday

Hello brothers and sisters,

As we discussed, our fellowship is shrinking and needs a change. Grace Lee at the church office graciously shared the fellowship info in the following. Family North and Ark are the closest fit. If you are OK, I can reach out to Family North and start a conversation. Potentially, we can join their fellowship for once or twice in order to evaluate this option.

Different subject - Looking ahead, the church has the Thanksgiving outreach at UPC on 11/18 and 11/19. YF also has activity at Steve Moy's place at 630pm-830pm on 11/19. Both events will collide with our next fellowship. What's your suggestion?

Hi Michael: 

Thanks for taking this initiation . I talked to pastor Sol who happened to call me last night about our group decision of the future bible study material. He and his family goes to Family North.  They are in the same situation with us. Several families left. They normally have 8-10 families pre pandemic, now down to 4-5 families. They have not had formal fellowship since pandemic. 

We talked about potential trying first time gathering during holiday season, then found out this: Samuel Fellowship is listed bilingual, but we actually belong to mandarin congregation as several deacons from our group  are mandarin deacons ( like Albert, Xiao) and also some people are heavily served in mandarin ministry,like Sharon and Justina. It feel less connected between two groups if we go to Chinese service  and serve Chinese congregation ministry, while their group do not Involve Chinese congregation ministry.

From last  Sunday church bulletin we know some families from snohomish congregation are looking for fellowship . Xiao and me briefly talked about this. Wecthink it is s good idea to outreach to those families. I am planning to call some people to get some information. If Any body know any resource and like me to find out more, please let me know.

Speaking for the weekend of 11/18, 11/19 of fellowship time conflicting with youth fellowship gathering at Steve place and UPS out reach, I am proposing to switch our fellowship time to 11/25 Friday when we are having thanksgiving gathering at Jana/ xiao place. Jana/ Xiao did I hear right last Saturday it is 11/25?

Thanks Qing and Michael for the update. We can definitely explore ECC North. Personally we are also open to work with Family North (or any of those Family fellowships) if they would be willing. To be honest, we have a closer relationship to Family North at this point as we see each other at church every Sunday. At least half of our families join English service on Sundays. And we are a bilingual fellowship and are open to be involved in any ministry. For example, Sharon, Julia, Albert and Jana are involved in children ministry/kidz club that are across all Seattle congregations. 

Yes, let's cancel the fellowship on 11/18 and meet at our house on 11/25. Jana will send an official invitation soon.

Hello brothers and sisters,

I hope your week is off to a great start. I had a chance to speak with Natalie Liu (coordinator at Family North) over the phone last night, and hope to provide an update:

• The size of Family North has also declined in the past 3 years. Natalie personally supports the idea of combining the two fellowships. She is seeking feedback from her fellowship members. Our tentative plan is to meet up on Dec 3rd.

I will be on the lookout for her update. Most importantly, we as a fellowship need to earnestly seek God's guidance in this decision.

Different subject - Would you like to have a fellowship retreat in summer 2023? Cannon Beach conference center (link here) hosts retreat and we may be able to take advantage of this. I have heard fantastic reviews! The hope is to have a fellowship retreat, and this is just one option. Let's chat more this Friday!
