Provisional Wickford Regatta 2021 dates

Hi Everyone,

We have set provisional dates for Wickford Regatta 2021 for the second weekend in June, 12-13. Many organizations have not settled on dates which has made the decision difficult, but someone has to start. We are assuming that the Brooke Gonzalez Clinic will be the following weekend at Sail Newport. I-420s, 29ers and Lasers are all part of that event and we have traditionally been the weekend before.

Unfortunately, we will conflict with the NYYC Annual Regatta and may also conflict with the RS Aeros NAs in Mississippi. I am still searching for the dates of Spring Off Soundings. F-18s and 505s have indicated that they are OK with either the 1^st or 2^nd weekend in June. Hope that is still true.

I would appreciate any information about regattas that may conflict with or be in too close proximity to the June 12-13 weekend.

We consider June 12-13 as PROVISIONAL DATES for now.

Greg et al,

Thanks for the poke. Subject to reconfirmation the BEG will be June17-20 so the Wickford Regatta will be June 12-13 as previously announced. I will reconfirm early next week and send an official announcement. Additionally, we have already blocked out the weekend of September 11-12 as a backup date for the Wickford Regatta in the event that Covid gets in the way.

Greg et al,

I have just learned that Sail Newport is now planning to hold the Brooke Gonzalez Clinic over two weekends, 6/12-13 and 6/19-20 with everything except C-420s on 6/12-13. I immediately contacted the WYC officers to inform them of this change and have requested that we move our dates to June 5-6 but I have not received confirmation that it will be possible.

In short, stand by. I’ll let you all know the official dates ASAP.
