Yes Chechi, may his Atmah attain Sadgati!
Anand, Asha, Usha, Pramila, Vinu and many others grew up in my parents house while in Dar. Mommy would tell me stories of how all the children would come to theirs, almost every weekend and daddy being an outdoors man, would end up taking them for movies or to the beach or play at home while their parents had a weekend to themselves. My parents enjoyed this very much and todate have so many photos of those days in albums at my home in Trivandrum. Sorry, I have never called many of our EAMM elders chettas and or chechis because I was once told not to do so by someone and since then have only addressed everyone by their first name. Anand was very much an older brother to me and has helped us in many ways during our travels to the USA in the early 90's. He had helped my Sister in Law and her daughter during her first trip to the US in '89 since our cousins were out of town. Anand took them home and made sure they were happy and safe until their onward flight to the US. Similarly another time, he helped mommy and daddy by storing all their suitcases in his Jet Airways office while they went home in Mumbai. He would also always make it a point to visit my parents and mommy now when he visited Trivandrum. He would take Umachechi and Parvathy with him. Mommy was saying yesterday how he would stand and look at my Mundu set wedding photo in our showcase and admire the "Uddeeyanam" that i was wearing and would ask mommy where it was made and wanted to see it...:)).
A few months back he had messaged me asking for my mom's cell number, saying he lost it and was telling me that he felt he wanted to talk to his Amma and hence wanted to talk to mommy and he did do that too...Paavam!
He will truly be missed and mommy feels very sad too.
Om Shanthi, Shanthi, Shanthi!
