How do I configure heli_ewII.d and/or WWS to work together?
I have the correct waveserver IP and port.

I've always used wave_serverV.d and have no experience with a wws.

Or do I have to use a vm or another box running EW and  wave_serverV.d to do this?

You can connect your heli_ewII.d to the ip:port with WWS exactly the same as you would for waveserverV.

Mitch, I've done that but heli_ewII won't run/zombies on me.  I guess something else is going on?

I'm used to putting something like this in wave_serverV.d:

Tank    TBID EHZ WW 00  528   ${EW_INST_ID} MOD_WILDCARD       1         10000         /data/TBID_EHZ_p1001.tnk

And this in heli_ewII.d:

Plot TBID EHZ UI 01 12 1   -7  PDT  1  1  20  20  15 0.01  1.5  1   "TBID EHZ"

What's the equivalent, if any, for a wws?

That was a copy/paste error on my part.  This is what is in heli_ewII:

Hmm, well it's over my head then. If you can get the expected response from the wws with getmenu then heli_ew should work. The wws does need current data though and your getmenu showed only up to 20251107_2257.

Bob,

Mitch brings up a good point.  Unlike WaveServerV, which incorporates both the feed into the data store and the data server, Winston splits the feed into the data store in an ImportEW process and serves data from the store using WWS.  Check your logs for aberrant ImportEW behavior.

How do I configure heli_ewII.d and/or WWS to work together?
I have the correct waveserver IP and port.

Hi Bob --

I didn't see a solution in the thread, so I'll just say...

You use 0.0.0.0 later in this thread; just want to make sure you don't have heli ew pointing to 0.0.0.0. That special 0 address as you probably already know if this isn't your issue, is just for listening. To connect you need to point to loopback 127.0.0.1 or to an actual IP address of your host.

I've always used wave_serverV.d and have no experience with a wws.

Or do I have to use a vm or another box running EW and  wave_serverV.d to do this?

Thanks Stefan.  I DID have heli_ewII pointed to 0.0.0.0.  And using the IP of the host solved the issue.
