I am a new user and I  am running Earthworm 7.10 on RHEL7 with KMI Etna-2 Sensors running the slink2ew module and on the server I have ew2file pulling the mseed records from the WAVE_RING and writing them to a single file or individual files for each packet which is a lot of overhead. I am looking to see if there is a mechanism that would have the ability to write hour long files. The default two options are one continuous file or tons of 512 Byte long files. I may be blind but I have not found other options. 

Thank you in advance if anyone knows of a way.

Hi Tim,

Consider using the MseedRing option in slink2ew and the ew2mseedarchiver module.
