Hello Air Park Neighbors
Your HOA board wanted to keep the neighborhood updated on the rezoning proposal for the Sierra Vista parcel directly to the South of the Air Park. This is the large field north of Hwy 7 and west of Bonanza at the entrance to the Air Park.
As you may know, the current zoning of this parcel is primarily Low Density Residential (LR) with a small section of Community Commercial (CC) near the corner of Bonanza and Hwy 7.
See this map:
The proposed zoning change replaces the current designations with a combination of Community Mixed Use (CMU) and Airport (AP).
See this map for proposed changes:
PROPOSED ZONING
The HOA board has heard concerns regarding the proposed changes in such close proximity to our southern border, specifically:
• Some of the permitted uses of the CMU zoning such as Medium to High density housing and several of the allowed Commercial business uses
• The possible Industrial aspects of the AP zoning as has happened on the West side of the airport
And generally:
• The anticipated increase of traffic on Bonanza at the entrance to the Air Park
This new zoning proposal has already been accepted by the Town's Planning Commission on April 1st and will be presented to the Town Council at the next meeting taking place next Tuesday, April 28th, 6:30 pm at the Town Hall. If you have comments or concerns, we encourage you to attend the meeting next Tuesday. If unable to attend in person, you can attend virtually by following this link:
