Hi, one of our Primary schools is using an online programme for reading and spelling called Nessy . It was designed for pupils with dyslexia but claims to be effective for pupils learning EAL. Has anyone come across it in their schools? Has anyone found a review of it, can’t find anything on EEF. Thanks Ann Long,

Hello Ann

I used Nessy quite a lot in my time as an EAL teacher in N Wales, and it was very popular with my younger EAL pupils. The games reinforced spelling and language patterns, and the pupils really found it fun.
