Hi and hello everyone!

I'm happy to introduce dxf2gcode with pocket milling support. This work is inspired by thehammertownhead work [https://sourceforge.net/p/dxf2gcode/tickets/67/], but rewritten almost completely.

My goal was to create something that works, not necessarily efficient. I think I made it. It can be downloaded here: https://github.com/SanZamoyski/dxf2gcode-pocketMill/tree/Beta (remember to download Beta branch).

There are some things that still need to be done, but I think that someone can find it useful and test it somehow for me. TODO list is in Github's README.

Please test and write here what doesn't work, ideas and everything You want ;)

Regards!

Unfortunately this works only for some shapes.

Just open your DXF, right click shape You want to cut and select pocket milling:

That's all.
You can also select compensation.

Best regards!

Dear San,
I don't see "pocket milling" in right click menu.
I think I built the correct source code version.
Sorry, i cannot attach images!

Thanks for your help!

Hi San,
After reading the source code,
I realized I needed to disable the Cutter Compresation checkbox in Output Settings tab.

Now it work fine.
Thankyou so much!

Very happy to see this. I've used it now a few times on my Windows 10 PC and its been a success.

While I see what you mean about inefficient, the time it saves in creating a manual tool path in Autocad makes up for it 10 fold. Well done!

Happy to read that! Funny thing - I spent a lot of time making that (I didn't know python almost at all), and didn't use it even once - so it is good to know someone else found this useful! Thanks.
