Hello,

I have just finished the upgrade to dspace 7.2, everything is migrated well and the navigation is pretty much smooth; except when I try to do a submission, the moment I click "deposit" it takes about 2 minutes for the submission to go through. I tried different optimizations with no success. Anyone who faced a similar issue? how did they fix it?

Thanks

Whenever you find that DSpace 7.x is acting up, it's best to use the Troubleshooting guide to look for underlying errors.

Sometimes you'll find that a simple misconfiguration or similar is to blame.  Some of the common installation/configuration issues are listed in our install guide at:

You also may wish to consider upgrading to a later version of 7.x (the latest is 7.5) to see if that solves the problem.

I have the same problem with DSpace 7.6.1. Clicking Deposit takes much time, as well as, Approve and Reject in the Workflow tasks. I measured approx. 25 seconds. Everything else is running as fast as expected. Is this normal or something should be done? To mention that I performed all the stuff mentioned in https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC7x/Performance+Tuning+DSpace.

Kind regards
Milos

Hi,

We've made a number of performance improvements to the Submission Forms & MyDSpace pages in both 7.6.2 and 8.0.  See the release notes of those releases:
https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC8x/Release+Notes

While I cannot guarantee whether these will fix all the issues you are seeing, there were at least 2-3 performance specific bugs located and fixed in those releases directly related to the submission form & MyDSpace pages.  So, I'd encourage trying one of those to see if it fixes your issues.

Tim
