Configurable Entity without Realtionships

Hi,

is it possible to define a configurable entity without a relationship? I'd like to define an entity type Events which has no relationships to other entries.

Answering my own question after looking at the source left and right entity need to be available when initializing the entites although right entity can be left empty. Omitting this will result in a runtime failure. An empty entity will be created though.
