DSpace 7 and old bitstream links

Hi,
I have a problem with the old format of bitstreams links. A lot of links in Google Scholar in the DSpace 6.x format like: "bitstream/11111/11118/1/08_bitstream_polish_signs_ążźć.pdf" with Polish characters ( ą, ę, ź, etc.) in the file name are not being redirected to the new DSpace 7 format. Why is this happening? Thanks,
