Hi there, wondering if I could perhaps get some help with this issue I seem to be having. Attempting to install a fresh installation of DSpace, initially tried 7.5 but this issue seems to also happen with 7.4.

Running mvn package seems to work fine, except for a bunch of warnings being spit out with org.dspace:dspace-api. Will attach the messages below. Build finishes successfully, but then upon ant fresh_install, I get an error "IllegalArgumentException: Could not resolve placeholder 'pubmed.url.fetch' in value "${pubmed.url.fetch}" which stops the installation process. Really not sure why this occurs but it is also an issue with dspace-api so I suspect these are related.

Any help in solving this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Apologies, forgot to add .txt to the ending of the files. See below attached files.
DSpace 7.4 mvn package warnings.txt
DSpace 7.4 ant fresh_install error.txt

I did also try the steps from this comment here: https://groups.google.com/g/dspace-tech/c/nAoZPkNAkAw/m/RdaOv-UjFAAJ, however the files from DSpace/Config are correct (in both the /dspace/config/ and /dspace/target/dspace-installer/config/ folders).

Hi,

That error related to "${pubmed.url.fetch}" seems to be saying that configuration is missing from your [dspace]/config/*.cfg files.   It should appear in the "external-providers.cfg" file like this: https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/blob/main/dspace/config/modules/external-providers.cfg#L49   And that "external-providers.cfg" file should be imported into your dspace.cfg like this: https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/blob/main/dspace/config/dspace.cfg#L1683

If one of those two things are misconfigured, then the "pubmed.url.fetch" setting will not be seen by DSpace, which can result in the error you are seeing.

If you need more help, let us know on this list.

Tim
