Dear All,

If I remember correctly, I had made one particular user the Admin of a top level community.I wish to verify this.
So I logged in as the admin user of DSpace, clicked on People. Then I choose that particular user's name and at the bottom I can see :-

Groups this E-person is a member of : has 2 items in it.

1. COMMUNITY_long alpha numeric string_ADMIN
2. Anonymous

Now my query is  : Is this person an ADMIN of this community ? How do I verify this ?

Thank you,
Ashim

Hello Ashim,

per default the Groups which end with '_ADMIN' are administration groups. You have to check if the UUID is correct.

To be sure you may check the 'resourcepolicy' table in the database. The action ID for administration access is 11.

I hope this helps and kind regards,

Paul Münch

Dear Paul,

Thank you for your help.

When I look at the table resourcepolicy where action_id = 11, I get only 1 row :-

policy_id | resource_type_id | resource_id | action_id | start_date | end_date | rpname | rptype | rpdescription | eperson_id | eperson_group_id| dspace_object

Of which only 5 - the bold ones - are populated.

The id of dspace_object is MATCHING.

Why is the eperson_id empty ?

Thank you and Best Regards,
Ashim

Dear Paul,

When I click on Access Control > People > Chosen Person,

I can see that the Chosen Person is a Member of  a group which is Admin for the correct Community.

I guess I have made a Admin group and given this person membership of this group as opposed to only making this person an Admin. That is why eperson_id is blank while epersongroup_id is populated. Is that right ?

Many thanks,
Ashim

Dear Ashim,

that's right. You can not set a single eperson as admin. Even if you have only one person to administrate this community, there has to be an admin group.

Kind regards,

Paul Münch
