I’m facing a problem: my DSpace 8.0 default admin cannot log in. What could be the issue? Is there anyone who can help me?

If you have access to the commandline, then you can change the user's password from the "./dspace user" commandline tool documented at https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC7x/Managing+User+Accounts#ManagingUserAccounts-Tomodifyanaccount:

It's also possible to recreate the same administrator account (or a new one) by using the commandline "./dspace create-administrator" tool.

If neither of these solve the problem, it's also possible there's an error occurring that is *blocking* your ability to login.  If that's the case, you should use the Troubleshooting Guide to locate the detailed error message, as that will have clues as to what the problem may be. https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSPACE/Troubleshoot+an+error

I am experiencing a login issue with DSpace 8.1. I installed DSpace 8.1 on two Rocky 9.5 linux boxes (test and prod), Java 17, solr 9.8.1, pm2 (node v22), Tomcat 11.0.6.The two boxes use almost identical configuration settings and identical data. Everything is fine on the test box; but I just can not log in (time out) on the prod box. Logs are clean (tomcat catalina.out, dspace.log, solr.log, and frontend; browser development tools ). The public  interface is working fine.

By the way, I am using ldap authentication. I noticed that every time I tried to log in the "latest_active" field of the eperson table got updated.

Any suggestions or comments are highly appreciated!

I found the problem from other "unable to login" message. I included the following in my apache config:

       ProxyPreserveHost On

       RequestHeader set X-Forwarded-Proto HTTPS

The "RequestHeader set X-Forwarded-Proto HTTPS" should be "RequestHeader set X-Forwarded-Proto https".
