Hi,

A 500 error from the REST API means that the backend has hit an error. You will need to check the DSpace logs or Tomcat logs for details on what that error is.  Again, see the troubleshooting guide at: https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSPACE/Troubleshoot+an+error#Troubleshootanerror-DSpace7.x(orabove)
