Create / Add Indexes

Hello All,

It is widely known that DSpace comes out of the box with the following indexes:

Communities & collections

Issue date

Authors

Titles

Subjects

We would like to add more DC Elements that we want to index and made searchable from the drop-down menu (Filters).

Can someone point me in the right direction or have first-hand knowledge of how to do this?

Hello,

there are to places where you configure additional indexes.

Metadata fields which should occure under '/browse' (facets), can you configure in the 'dspace.cfg' (https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/blob/master/dspace/config/dspace.cfg#L1002-L1067).

For additional search filter under '/discover' you have to update the 'discovery.xml' (https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/blob/master/dspace/config/spring/api/discovery.xml). Filters must be defined and configured at the right properties. For example take a look at 'searchFilterAuthor'.
