rest api in in 51

If I made these two request

RESTapi/handle/[handle]

RESTapi/items/[item_id]

The output is the same,

But if I change the title on the item, only

RESTapi/items/[item_id]

picks up the change.

Why is 

RESTapi/handle/[handle]

Not picking up the new title change?

OK, I see the situation is that it's using the cache, so I've made a change to clear the cache every time /handle is called.
