Hi everyone,

I've been looking everywhere for the hardware specs for Dspace 8 for Windows without success. Yeah I know Linux is better by far but my client prefers Windows.

Does anyone know?

Thanks,

Hi,

The DSpace specs are the same for any OS, and they are highly dependent on the size of the site & the number of active users.   Some *minimal* requirements are listed on our performance tuning page: https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC8x/Performance+Tuning+DSpace   However, those numbers may only work for very small sites, and larger sites will need more memory/CPU.

Finally, the amount of disk space used by DSpace depends entirely on how many files you wish to store.  All files stored in DSpace end up written to disk, so if you wish to store 100GB of files, you'll need at least that much space on disk (technically, you'd need more than that, to make room for logs & the database, if they are all stored on the same machine).

Hopefully that gives you some general guidelines.  If you have more specific questions, you can ask them here & maybe others can provide more specific advice based on their experience.
