Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could provide some optimal solution for the following issue:
Along with the full articles/books, I'd like to include individual elements of a publication in the repository (mainly images). I'd like to do it for linking purposes (links in XML version of the publications; I need to have those files on our server). I could obviously add subsequent bitstreams (like Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.), but for a book with hundreds illustrations that wouldn't look friendly (would it?). So I thought about three solutions:
1. hiding some bistreams? But from this forum I presume there is no way to do that?
2. creating separate collection only for those items somewhere in a repository.
3. keeping these files outside of DSpace at all, but in some publicly accessible server resource.

Would appreciate you hints.

Peter
