Dear DSpace Community,
We are pleased to announce the release of DSpace 7.6.5!
This small release fixes a severe, backend logging issue that was occurring in 7.6.4 after an upgrade to log4j version 2.25.0. This logging issue only impacts version 7.6.4, as this is the only DSpace release to use log4j 2.25.0. The issue is resolved by upgrading to log4j 2.25.1.
The 7.6.5 release only includes minor dependency updates. No new features are provided.
Major Bug fixes / improvements include:
Updates the backend to use log4j version 2.25.1. The prior version of log4j (v2.25.0) contains a severe bug that resulted in no INFO level messages being logged to the dspace.log file. See #11046
Other minor dependency updates to the User Interface.
See Release Notes for additional details.
Would you like to contribute to a future DSpace release?
DSpace is built and supported by community volunteers. We have no centralized development team. Therefore, we welcome contributions from anyone! Contributions may take the form of:
Contributing money to our DSpace Development Fund - All funds go directly towards development in the next release(s), and you will be acknowledged on our DSpace Development Fund page.
Contributing code - As a volunteer developer you can determine which issue ticket you’d like to work on. Join our weekly developer meetings or get in touch with Tim Donohue if you have any questions.
