Problem with browsing by author

Dear fellow professionals,

I have a problem in dspace 6.3 browsing:

I verified that the search for example by author does not accept space, let's say there is an author named João da Costa, when using the browse by author option, you can only retrieve it using Jõao, if you put João da, or Jõao da Costa it doesn't appear .

Has anyone dealt with this? I think it's configuration, but I still haven't found the solution.

 so far I have not been able to solve the problem, I saw that this problem also persists in the demo, which can be consulted at http://demo.dspace.org/jspui/browse?type=author. Has anyone managed to solve?
