Problem in authorize a uploaded collection with bit stream read in DSpace 7

Dear DSpace Community,

Please assist me in authorizing the uploaded collection with a bitstream read policy restriction to a certain group. Is it possible?

For example, we have uploaded a collection of "undergraduate thesis reports" to our repository (DSpace 7) and would like to allow only a select group of people to see the bitstream when the metadata can be read by anynomus.

Note: There are policies under the authorization tab, but we already uploaded a collection and would like to set a policy. Is that a possibility?

Hi Namrata,

It is possible to modify the policies of any created object from the "Edit" option on the "Authorizations" tab, like you mention.  This can be done one-by-one for any Community, Collection or Item.  If you edit an Item, the "Authorizations" tab will also allow you to edit the policies of every Bitstream in that Item.  Some basic documentation on this is available at https://wiki.lyrasis.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=249135668

If you are instead asking about a way to edit these policies *in bulk* (all at once), that's not yet possible.  But, that feature is coming soon in DSpace 7.6 (due later in June).  It is in the final stages of review but will be ready in time for 7.6.  For some more information, see this ticket: https://github.com/DSpace/dspace-angular/issues/781#issuecomment-1462825258
